I have a question about Visa issue regarding unpaid internship in Japanese office.
As I know, It is possible to stay in Japan for 3 months with a tourist Visa. If the working conditions are unpaid and less than 3months, do I have to prepare specific Visa even if it is unpaid job? or is the tourist visa sufficient?
If someone has an unpaid internship experience in Japan, I look forward your opinions.
most interns come here on tourist visa, which is why internships are often 3 months long, as you have noticed.
if you have a school requirement to do an internship it is possible to get a visa for that. Our office has done it a few times for European architects. It is not difficult, just some simple paperwork. But you need to have an actual requirement in the university. It does not work otherwise.
