Had someone today tell me "Yeah I have worked in Rivit" Yeah, no. You can't even pronounce the software's name dude... but yeah these are the people applying to jobs that require Revit experience. Also there are many ways to do the same things in revit and every office will be different so no matter how much you know the software there will be some curve to getting up to speed.

How to get that first Revit job?
I will soon graduate and apply for work, however most entry level position adverts require 1 year's live project Revit experience.
I am a Revit Certified Professional but I only have 6 months Revit work experience (2 x 3month internships).
Will I have to work for free for a year just to get the experience required?
Just apply, job descriptions are just to weed out people who don't believe in themselves.

Most of these firms don't care at all, and if they do, don't work there.
