I've recently "placed" in a competition and managed to scrounge up about half of my rent for the month with the prize money.
This was an ideas competition, so I realize there can be some discrepancies that I can sweep under the rug. Seeing as how I'm fairly new to submitting entries for competitions, I was wondering what more experienced individuals thought?
Should competition entries be fully developed projects?

depends on the competition governing rules and how bad you wanna win
^these are independent and often conflicting factors.
A lot of people win competitions for real projects without developing things that work within the confines of the brief or reality for that matter.
