I am beginning work on a research project that is trying to theorize the role of the object (model, drawing, etc) within the architectural office / design studio. Surprisingly, perhaps, the plans of architectural offices are not widely disseminated and this has provided some inertia to the collection of references. In an attempt to remedy this, I was curious to see if anyone would be willing to share any representations of the spaces in which we all work.
WANTED: Architectural Office Plans
Hi All,
I am beginning work on a research project that is trying to theorize the role of the object (model, drawing, etc) within the architectural office / design studio. Surprisingly, perhaps, the plans of architectural offices are not widely disseminated and this has provided some inertia to the collection of references. In an attempt to remedy this, I was curious to see if anyone would be willing to share any representations of the spaces in which we all work.
PLANS, PHOTOS, SECTIONS, RENDERINGS, IDEOGRAMS! Whatever you've got!
Maybe we can get an interesting critical mass? Could be a cool discussion.
Here's two images to kick things off: Morphosis (old offices in Santa Monica) and Sagmeister + Walsh
