What would you call this style of architecture?

danielamorescalchi@gmail.

Hello all. Not an architect here, but was hoping you could advise as to what you'd call this style of modern architecture for condos & apartments.

They are becoming increasingly common here, boxy building, wood slats on outer surfaces. The link has the site for one of them.

Not a fan, but would like to know if this is now a specific type of style and if so, what is it called? Where could i read more about it?  It seems very minimalist. But doubt you could call it that.

Thank you.

The term you may be looking for is "soft loft." This is a real estate development concept, not an architectural style-- though it has common design attributes you point out.

It's simple and boxy because that gets you maximum area and volume with simpler construction.  The wood finishes, flower boxes, etcetera soften the aesthetic-- some.  The design strategy aims at those who want an "urban" vibe/sensibility, but not too hard at the expense of comfort and homeyness.

I think Mistress is like a serving suggestion, you don't get a Mistress but you could keep one in this apartment.

^^ In the interest of political correctness, let's remember that a Mister could just as easily be housed therein.
