of course, because you are an American citizen, suddenly that makes you important enough a target. Dommage...you would wonder how it feels to be one of the 'common people'.

And suddenly, the lack of incidents, apropos the 'American citizen' model, becomes the exception.

I have a friend teaching architecture at the American University of Sahara and he loves it over there. Neither he nor his family has had any problems politically/socially.

From a recent email where he is trying to get me to move there - gives you his exact feel for the UAE:
