there's never any harm in meeting and talking with any person your school brings in. exposure to people and ideas is the whole purpose of lectures. it's fair game.
...but: 1) you shouldn't expect him to remember you later, and 2) you shouldn't expect that this meeting will make any difference in your acceptance.

is it cool for me to introduce myself to the Dean of a particular program I've applied (and waiting to hear from) after a lecture at my School?
