National Geographic has an excellent archive of .pdf maps..run a few searches and you will stumble on it...i used some a while back and they are really well made!!!

Anything in PDf is likely a raster file, probably not what he needs.

I can't stress enough the importance of googling things. It's really much faster than posting on this forum and waiting for responses. I googled World Map Vector and followed the first link and found this response on a forum.

there's a few if you search "world map" in their movies...

You'll need to bring these .fla's into flash & then break them apart/change up the colors/etc for what you're looking for. From there you can export it as a .ai file.

the pdf files are also in vector format....i just opened them in illustrator and they worked out fine. - they came thru with all stroke weights etc
I do know a thing or two about vector file formats!!!

MM- this friend of mine is a pretty clever guy and I just assumed he googled it already. But you know what they say about assumptions...

same old doctor, if you have a map that just outlines the countries in the format you're describing, would you be willing to e-mail it, or send me a link to it?
