anyone have any thoughts on how to print graphics (text + line drawings) onto plywood in an elegant way?
trying to avoid stenciling, looks too cheap.

Try your best local print shop. I have seen ones with hizzuge flatbed printers where you can pass through any material up to [i think] 3/4" thick and it prints digital images directly onto the material. Seen the very sharp results on plywood panels and acrylic.

you could try screen printing, which is basically an advanced form of stenciling.
You could use acetone transfer.

just do an inkjet transfer. its pretty easy. You can buy the transfer paper, or make your own. There are several different ways to do it.
try doin a serigraph
I run sheets of veneer through our epson stylus pro 10000. The ink saturation is quite beautiful. (44 inch wide)
