Hi everyone. I have a little question for you . In this time, i'm in New York for holidays, but i'm thinking of coming here to work. I'm an italian architect, 35 years old and i worked in many italian design firm. My question : is a good idea to come in New York for working in this field? how much is teh average salary? For us is better to work in a big design firm (gensler, hok ecc...) or in a little office?
It's a busy market in NY. Lots of firms, lots of firms looking for people to work for them, lots of architects looking for work. I hear the pay is low as compared to the cost of living. I've never lived there or considered it. Obviously, you'll need to work for a firm that will deal with immigration issues for you, which probably means a larger firm.
