I read "Brunelleschi's Dome" a couple of years ago. Casting Bronze and Making Sculpture part was awesome. Is there any books (non fiction or fiction) which has those kind of Aura? THanks
you could read michelangelo and the pope's ceiling also by king... it's less about architecture, but equally as fascinating imo
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet...again, not like Dome...but interesting...its about building a cathedral in 12th century England...very detailed accounts of designing, building, "client relations"...etc.
Devil in the White City. Not so much about construction processes but an interesting look into the lives of the Beauxe Arts architects.
The origins of modern achitecture. by: Lianne Lefaivre and Alexander Tzonis a great selection of texts form 12th to 19th century, featuring translated texts from: Alberti, Goethe, Boulee, Ledoux, Palladio...and many more. A wonderfull time machine, offering an amazing insight in today's world.
