I'm hoping you can be my Google for the time being.
I'm searching for a project by a young architecture/design/installation firm I came across a few years ago. It involved 3D scanning a log or slab of wood and subsequently using that digital definition to CNC the wood down to a specific of its grain.
Though I don't know if it was explicitly referenced, the work was conceptually similar to Giuseppe Penone's 'Hidden Life Within' work--using digital instead of manual methods:

I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks!
Was it this one by PROJECTiONE? They also did the amazing fireplace surround in my house, which you can see here.
CT scanning wood - really?
Then depending on CNC tools ... egad, we're fucked.
