Corel Painter IX vs Piranesi 4

RqTecT

I got my upgrade for Corel Painter 8 just a year ago.
So when I saw Corel Painter IX was coming out for $249 UPGRADE
I Thought you money hungry Bastards at Corel.
So I had my company buy the software first.
Let me tell you.., It is Worth the money to me.
If you are doing any watercolor or
paintery effects this program is the one to get.

I do not have Piranesi 4 yet is it worth $750?
Also tell me what you guys think of Painter IX.

Hey Stark... this is a good topic. I recently completed my first rendering with Piranesi 4 for a client and they were really happy with the digital to hand-painted look/feel. The main thing with Piranesi is it has Z-Depth. So all your cut-outs get inserted in perspective scale (which is truly amazing). Also, Piranesi 4 supports 3D cut-outs and RPC content... so you can't go wrong there (and again, all in perspective). I still spent 1/2 hour in photoshop putting the final touches on the Piranesi output, but that's inevidable. I also have Corel Painter IX and a Wacom Intuos 2 6x8 but little time to explore thier use; I'm totally pleased with Piranesi. Again, this is my first ever Piranesi rendering after only going thru the "Quick Start" tutorial.

I LOVE THE WATER COLORS OF PIRANESI
HOW LONG DID THAT TAKE YOU.

I JUST ORDERED A Wacom Intuos 3 6x8.

I'LL POST SOME OF MY PAINTER WORK OVER THE WEEKEND.

Thank you... It's now that great, but it does soften the hard-edge digital renderings that clients have a hard time "feeling".

It took about 1 hour from the load of the model into Piranesi to final Photoshop touch-up. Though, the 3D model takes quite a bit longer. From what I've read, there is a near seamless integration between SketchUp and Piranesi...

Can't wait to see your painter work :)
