a vacation?
I'm at a loss for what I want for the holidays. I recently received an Ipod, which I love, so that's no longer on my list.
Despite being interested in fashion, I haven't seen any clothes in a while that peak my interest.
I'm happy with my current laptop. It's not great, but it does fine.
This weekend I downloaded the SketchUp demo and really liked it. I thought it was pretty good for quick massing sketches, etc. I'd love a copy for Christmas, if anyone wants to give it to me. But I'm not going to spend $500 on it anytime soon.
If money were not an issue:
Patek Phillipe watch
Case of 30 year Laphroig
A country estate designed by the architect of my choice.
A loft in NYC designed by the architect of my choice.
I've been very good this year, so I definately deserve all of the above.
a case of trappist.
a computer for my girl friend so she'll stop using mine.
my two front teeth.
new messenger/shoulder bag.
timing belt replaced on my car.
audiophiles have always disliked bose because they use cheap components to make their products and then use deceptive marketing to get people to think they're high end.
Anyway, here's my wish list:
-More desk space, can never get enough of that
-Lighting for my desk that's, for once in my life, not glarey
-Turntable and vinyl collection (time to go back and discover all the good rock made before I was born that's not one of the 10 songs they play on classic rock stations)
-LED's to refurbish a lamp I made
-Biggest wish would be to hide under a rock until Jan 2. The holidays seem to bring out the worst in people.
you're a fly fisherman (or fly fisherwoman)? How, I've met so few fly fisherpersons in the architecture field.
I'm an avid fly fisherman, too. I've been a long time fan of Sage rods. I have a 10 weight G Loomis that I like, but my 5 weight Sage SP is probably my favorite rod I own.
I'm a former guide, so I'm a bit of an equipment junkie. If you want advice, feel free to email me.
Mostly, I want to find the energy before the holiday to get the house decorated and the cookies baked and accomplish all the stuff that will be really fun about the holidays for my 18-month-old.
Then I want the local papers to publish a driving tour of the best, most over-the-top, outrageous South Philly rowhouse decorations so I don't have to try to figure it out on my own.
Under the tree I hope to find a cool set of salt and pepper grinders.
pixelwhore - i know my names is not santa but i am looking to get rid of my 80 gig internal hard drive--Maxtor-- not the SATA but its an 80 gig--never been used
for christmas i would like a completed 1"=50' wood model of redhook-brooklyn's waterfront - that is all i want for christmas
archiTEKE:
Thanks for the offer, but I need a SATA drive. My G5 only has SATA connectors for the hard drive & I don't trust connection adapters (SATA to IDE, etc.), plus they typically defeat the gains from having the better connection.
New Trek or Hard Rock Specialized to replace my precious stolen bike
FM transmitter for my iPod
New suit (not asking for Hugo Boss, anything will do)
the new Elliot Smith CD
the new Cure CD
An acceptance letter to the grad school of my choosing
Am I asking too much? Even just 4 out of the 6 would be acceptable.
i want a really great watch, but i dont know from where. i liked the stark watches like 5 years ago, but i dont see any out that are really eye catching... any suggestions?

ipodlounge gives a $99 set of speakers a higher recommendation than the bose:

hey bryan, thanks for that link. I will check out the JBL creature thing before I decide.
As to your desk space, if you're anything like me, the more desk I get the more stuff I put on it.
Good luck with that and thanks for the Bose info.

80 gig internal SATA drive would be nice so I have a dedicated drive for my OS, then partition up my 160 gig for other uses...
as for unrealistic wishes:
iPod
2 gig RAM kit
15" LCD to go along with my 20" cinema display
Santa,
If you're reading this, don't let me see you face to face because you never make my wishes come true.
Sincerely yours,
pixelwhore - i know my names is not santa but i am looking to get rid of my 80 gig internal hard drive--Maxtor-- not the SATA but its an 80 gig--never been used
