M.Arch Late Admission Programs

Sipe12

Looking for some advice and suggestions here on where to go with my graduate pursuit...First things first, a little background.

I am a senior Environmental Design student at the School of Architecture at the University at Buffalo. I have completed my minor in Architecture as well, but because of circumstances I won't get into here, wasn't able to major in it. I have always wanted to go to architecture school, and was very excited to apply to M.Arch programs for the Fall 2011 term. I chose to apply to three schools...The Spitzer School of Architecture at CCNY, the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Architecture, and the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture. Out of high school I had been accepted to IIT's college of architecture undergrad program, but was unable to attend due to financial constraints at the time (something I still regret not being able to do). I always had a fascination with the school and the city of Chicago, so was greatly disheartened when I was denied admission on Monday. I also was denied admission at the other two schools, and now find myself in panic mode. I have been doing some research trying to find other programs that I can apply to, but it is difficult to find out what schools take late applications.

I plan to apply to the Boston Architectural College, but would like to apply at a few other schools as well. Does anyone know of any other schools that take either late applications or rolling admissions? Also, feedback about BAC would be great, as I have only just recently looked at the details of the program.

april fool's joke?? why would you ever want to rush something as important as a grad school application (unless possibly you're an int'l student and want to stay in the country on a student visa)?? take some time off, get some work experience, earn some cash, build up your portfolio. ring up/email iit and try to get some feedback on your application. also take advantage of the fact that you're still in school and have access to arch profs who can critique your current portfolio/application. good luck.

I agree w/ If_arch above.  It's a decision you shouldn't rush.  If there's a school or city you really want to be a part of, then take the time to re-apply.  Some schools will even take the time to sit down with a rejected applicant and discuss how their application could be improved.  If IIT is your dream school, it might be worth asking.  The worst case scenario is that they can say "no".

But, if for some reason you're dead set on starting school right away, The School of Architecture at Prairie View A+M is still accepting applicants for the Fall of 2011.  Other schools might be as well.

If you're interested in schools in the UK, I know that The Bartlett at UCL accepts applicants on a rolling basis until July. The AA may also accept applicants at this time but you should verify this on their website.
