Hello all, i am currently a student at Cal State Northidge looking forward to graduating this May with my bachelors in Urban Studies & Planning. I am interested in Sci-Arc's M. Arch 1 program, but before i apply i want to enter their Making + Meaning Summer Course. I need to develop two works in which i already did so using SketchUp.
My question is: how do i 'construct' my portfolio? I am definitely a beginner when it comes down to it, and was seeking some advice as to how i should go about it; where to start, what to do after, etc..
I appreciate all comments. Thank you very much for taking some time to read my discussion.
1. check out issuu.com and search for architecture portfolios on there.
2. Bookmark the ones you like.
3. Also look at the portfolio critique threads on this site. People here offer really great detailed feedback. Read the comments in one window and view the portfolios in another and see if you agree or not.
4. Take notes
5. Only use your best work
6. Don't try to explain an entire project
7. List the points your trying to make
8. Ask if your images support those points.
9. Minimize text
10. Prepare to do several drafts
11. Get feedback early and often
12. It's your portfolio not theirs- it's ok not take someone's advice. design is subjective

One resources is -- www.portfoliodesign.com -- by Harold Linton. There is also a book available by the same name.

Pretty cool project - you should render it using 3ds max! :D
Just want to say thanks everyone, your suggestions are much appreciated!
