Sliding House

VP

The Sliding House, by dRMM Architects, may look like a simple timber barn or shed, and you may not be impressed by it — until you discover that it suddenly slides!!!!
As it slides, the moving element creates shifting outdoor living areas between the static elements as well as altering views, lighting conditions. But clearly the main benefit is that you can control the heating and cooling loads of the house throughout the year.
I personally think the design is a perfect example of how "thinking outside the box" can stretch the creative mind to look beyond the typical conservative planning requirements. What do you think?
