is any one know what is the material in this picture?
And Now I am looking for a materrial, harder than foam, softer than wood, and it must can be painted( foam will melt during paint) can any of you give me some advise?
urethane foam/precision board..... you can use a sealer before paint, depending on what type of paint you use.....mdf could be a good material also.....
MDF *always* looks like shit. Period. It is also really hard on endmills and will dull them quickly. Use polyurethane tooling board. The general plastics 15lb foam is pretty good. I use the axson prolab 65 medium density foam for pretty much everything. It is expensive as hell, but looks amazing. Here is a link to a project I recently did with it.

Does anyone have any photos of an interior installation using urethane foam?
I am trying to convince my PM to use this material but I need to show her some visually interesting ways that it has been used already.
