Int. Arch. Portfolio

msgingham

Hey there wise folks,

I am applying to interior architecture programs for fall 2012. I don't have a fine art or design background (majored in cultural studies and art history at McGill University) so i will be looking at pre-professional masters programs that don't require previous experience.

I have an extremely limited portfolio (some fashion, printmaking, photography) and will be building this bad boy from the ground up. Most programs seem to be looking for evidence of "creative potential" from applicants such as myself. Any advice as to how to break that down? Anywhere online I might view examples of what a successful portfolio might contain? I plan on taking night courses in the fall at Art Center College of Design to facilitate the process. Any suggestions in what I might take? (Intro to environmental design and Design 360 caught my eye). Should I also take a basic drawing class or communication sketch course at my local community college?

I appreciate any and all advice on the topic of Portfolio Development for Interior Architecture applications.

Merci!
