Portfolio Critique

iamjena

Hi All,

I am applying for my Masters of Architecture (first professional) for next fall, and would really appreciate your criticism on my portfolio.

I graduated from Berkeley in 2008, and so most of the projects are from my studios, with an extra side project I've been working on at the end.

It is still in-progress, and I've made some changes since uploading it, but would really like your honest feedback.

Thank you in advance.

ps. near the end, there is a full-spread of text. This is an excerpt from my undergrad thesis, and will be broken up with a fold-out plan and sections. The thesis is on Corviale - a 1 KM long housing structure outside of Italy, thus the plans don't fit on an 8.5x11.

First Impression - thoughtful and professional.

There is, however, a spelling error in the second sentence of first paragraph.

Good Luck with the application.

I think it would also be helpful if the plan drawings were annotated in some manner. This could be done with subtely so that it doesn't compromise the minimalist aesthetic.

after a quick review i have a few comments...

on pp. 23-24 you might consider making the images full-bleed... or something... they're floating on the page a bit...

i would highly recommend eliminating the last spread with the dayplanner thing...

make sure that the outline text that you're using as a title in the side page gutters prints well...

other than that i think that it looks very good... nice work and a clear, simple (in a good way) layout...

Thank you for the comments, I really appreciate it!

Yeah, all of the spelling mistakes have since been fixed. Originally, I was typing fast just to fill in the space.
