Capitalizing on a (literal) hunger for healthy, sustainable, science-based agriculture and biology, we are designing a series of rooftop hydroponic greenhouses in urban schools. Working with New York Sunworks, we have completed greenhouse labs for PS333 in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and PS84 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The largest of these projects is under construction at the Brooklyn School of Inquiry in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. In addition to their value as educational and research sites, these structures are prototypes for urban agriculture generally.
