In Fairfield, CA, this was the first large-scale thin-film PV factory in the world, and more significantly, the first BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) commercial project in the US. The solar facade and skylight on the control room/visitors center are the first of their kind, and remains one of the most economical ever realized - an energy generating building envelope that costs less than (high end) conventional facades.
