Impact, renewal, and increased capacity to serve characterize the renovation of this historic community center.

Our challenge was to modernize the iconic neighborhood building without sacrificing its character.  To achieve this, original materials were repurposed to create a vibrant lobby that is contemporary, yet evocative of the Center’s popular and storied basketball court, including a color palette inspired by the original court. The building’s program was enhanced through updated finishes, increased natural light, and addition of modern amenities. Post occupancy data reveals that the improvements have had measurable social impact on the community.
