This project demonstrates the relationship of space and movement in a restaurant setting. The exterior of Mac’s Speed Shop uses roof height to represent space change from the permanent interior dining area to the modifiable patio area. The patio boasts oversized operable windows to expose the space and provide an exterior experience which flex either horizontally or vertically. The windows are utilitarian in both style and restaurant flow of the space reacting to environment and occupant purpose. Through implementation of expansive elements, materials and detail are revealed; such as rebar handles and half door inset for the bar garage door.
