This "extreme makeover" to an existing 1940's ranch adds a family room off the rear, along with three new bedrooms on a new second floor level. Much of the second floor addition’s shape took clues from the existing structure below, keeping costs down while creating a more nuanced massing, pulled back from the first floor's footprint.
