The Residences at King's Crown

The design creates a trio of adjoining homes in a style merging from the Park City areas mining past with a renewed appreciation for color, texture, modern lines and small-space living. Exposed wood beams, steel cabling and corrugated steel siding create an industrial first impression of the exterior, softened by environmental concrete walls. The home front does not appear like a triplex; the only suggestion of three homes adjoined are the two underground garage entrances. The design positions public areas toward the bottom and private spaces at the top. The living and kitchen areas are on split levels, separated by a transparent railing giving the illusion and function of a great room. The sites steep grade rises almost 30 feet. The abrupt slope creates privacy and visual interest of the outdoor living spaces, featuring patios with mountain views designed to not impose on the living areas or vistas to one another.
