Located in the heart of vibrant Aerocity, and already becoming the hub for authentic Japanese Izakaya dining experience, KAMPAI is designed by Chromed Design Studio, an award winning design company known for their avant-garde approach.
The Izakaya experience is best translated as a “Japanese Pub” - a place deeply rooted in Japanese culture. The design team wanted to recreate the pleasure of enjoying the elegant cuisine of Japan and fit it into the modern day Indian Gastro-pub experience, with an incessant focus on the bar, converting it into a chic night spot.
Revolving around palettes of Sakura, wine and pink, the design layouts are soft and elegant and encompass traditional pop art influences from the Geisha community of Japan. An essential and recurring element with the design for KAMPAI, is the Sakura Tree (cherry blossom) along with artwork largely inspired by and depicting the seasons of Japan.
But there is more to KAMPAI than meets the eye, for instance the entrance itself is inspired by Bamboo joinery, yet made in metal to balance the sustainability of the structure and design. The interior also features traditional Japanese dining rooms, complemented by a monochrome floor design specially curated for KAMPAI.
The bar wall is dynamic and showcases projections reflecting the 4 seasons in Japan, with a stage for live performances adorned by a black marquino marble floor.
There are dining booths with wine curtains to serve as a thrilling counterpart to the more traditional seating in the rest of the restaurant offering space upto 100 guests for both group and intimate dining.
Time-honored techniques blend with innovative signatures, with a sophisticated menu of unconventional dishes at the restaurant’s live Sushi bar, with a special chef from Japan to make the experience more alive and theatrical.
The KAMPAI design is to appeal to a globetrotter that enjoys the flair and lightness of contemporary design in a classic setting.
