Conference & training center for Pally Bikash Kendra was design as nature contemplating space. The project contains small area to develop, yet fitted with hybrid type of program including office, conference, training facilities, dining and living areas for the officials.
The main functional space is enclosed by pre-existing structure. Introvert space interacts with natural features like sun, wind, water and trees making a vibrant place for the users. Rather than form, experience of space defies the built environment.
Existing two storied structure houses office at ground level and accommodation at first floor level. Through this old structure an illusive tunnel of reflective surface makes pathway to the new conference building. Double height lobby space with skylight and connected by an open staircase welcomes users to the functional area. We put a water body to represent the wetland context of Kishoreganj Haor that also enhances the space quality of the place.
Dining and conference areas are designed with vast windows to have spatial dialogue with the adjacent open spaces. All the functional areas can enjoy the water body while operation. Lobby area became an ultimate interaction place for all.
