This planned architectural object is located in Kutaisi, at the intersection of Tbilisi Street and Davit Agmashenebeli Square. It's the organic part of the square that plays a big role in the compositional arrangement of the square space. Given the importance of the place and the historic building, prioritizing was not difficult as most of the environment dictated the actions to take. In this case, our function was to find the right accents and use the key elements purposefully. To get a rational architectural solution, we considered several possible variations of the situation understanding. However, we finally achieved the optimal balance between functionality and architectural—artistic value by combining the existing and new architectural elements of the building. We filled in the functional gaps with new forms, with which we got full-fledged planning. The renovated building plays an important role in the overall structural integrity of the square.
