PHANTENOM CASA

PHANTENOM CASA – A PEARL IN THE CROWN OF CREATIVITY

AN ICON OF STYLE, AN IDEA OF UNITY, THE FULL DIMENSION OF LUXURY, AN EXCELLENT COMPOSITION

"Trifles make perfection, and perfection is no trifle" – Michelangelo

PHANTENOM CASA is yet another testament to the craftsmanship of Marcin Tomaszewski, an architect from Poland. In this project, every detail is meticulously thought out, and even the smallest elements reflect divine perfection and archaic excellence, creating an icon of ancient principles.

This project is more than a vision of luxury architecture; it has its unique DNA code, its unparalleled creation. PHANTENOM CASA is a masterpiece with an intimate enclave for living, appearing as an incarnation of mathematical precision intertwined with the artistry of classical art. This residence, intricately set in the golden ratio, rises above ordinariness, becoming a pearl in the crown of creativity. It symbolizes geometric perfection, harmoniously blending refined aesthetics with essential functionality. Its creator, Marcin Tomaszewski, drew inspiration from his experience, industry knowledge, and, in this case, from the art of ancient virtuosity.

The entire architectural project is based on the idea of unity, consistent with the philosophy of the Greek thinker Heraclitus, who proclaimed that everything is connected. Consequently, the architect left nothing to chance: every dimension relates to another, adhering to the golden ratio.

The project's origin story begins typically for the architect with a meeting with the client, who in this case had unusual requirements. The next step was a visit to the plot where the house would stand. That was enough for the designer to start forming the idea of creating a house from an idea.

Phidias – everything started with this figure – a Greek sculptor, the most prominent representative of Greek sculpture from the classical period, who created the Parthenon, an ancient temple maintaining golden proportions. This was the beginning for PHANTENOM CASA, but also an inspiration and muse for the architect himself.

Tomaszewski's client insisted that the entire house be designed according to the golden ratio. What exactly is the divine proportion? As an artist, Phidias influenced the emotions and feelings of the viewer. To this end, he sought the ideal composition to create the intended goal: perfect beauty, harmonious, where all elements blend together to form an ideal composition. He searched for a canon, a module, whose application would allow the creation of ideal works.

Thus, the most well-known aesthetic canon, the golden ratio, was born. The divine proportion, which forms the basis of this project, is a mathematical division with exceptional properties. It describes the division of a segment into two parts in such a way that the ratio of the longer part to the shorter part is equal to the ratio of the entire segment to the longer part. This ratio, known as the golden number, is 1.618. It is denoted by the Greek letter φ (read "phi"), referring to the name of Phidias, adding an extra dimension to the building's name, which refers to this sculptor and the Parthenon, the most well-known building whose facade is indeed designed in the golden ratio.

This phenomenon is brilliantly visible in this newly created project, where each room takes shape in the form of squares and rectangles with interdependent dimensions.

"The soul of a house is not its shape, but the idea in which it is created. The perfection of the golden ratio in the shape and layout of PHANTENOM Casa affects the functioning of the residents, adding ancient harmony to their lives." - says the project's creator.

The building's layout, consistent with the Fibonacci sequence, guides the user through successive common spaces to the hidden heart of the house, the wine cellar. Concentrating all common areas in one place allowed for a clear separation of the night zone, creating an atmosphere of intimate privacy, so valued today. In this project, the external form of the building results from a harmonious internal order.

The entire building mass has been carefully planned. From every direction, the object presents itself as a sculpture, concealing a deeper message. This forces the observer to pause and reflect on its essence. Particularly intriguing is the mysterious front elevation, which takes the form of a semicircular curtain. The curved wall, covered with the highest quality light Grassi Pietra limestone, forms a monumental element reminiscent of a theatre curtain behind which lies a story to be told. It is a kind of wall that encloses the private zone, hiding the life of the residents behind it. The whole does not resemble a typical residential building, but more evokes associations with a monumental ancient opera in terms of its size and majesty. This approach marks a revolutionary step towards emphasizing individuality and presenting architecture as a form of applied art.

A completely different atmosphere and emotions emanate from the garden side elevation. Stretched along the horizon, it attracts the residents' gazes. This time, the elevation takes an open and dynamic form. Here, apart from the mathematical precision inspired by Greek art, the building's mass also resembles the titular letter Φ. At first glance symmetrical, with a central element in the form of a glass opening leading to the living room, it creates a unique emblem of the building.

The carefully adapted surroundings are intended to highlight the prevailing atmosphere inside the building. Two hanging water terraces not only provide various forms of relaxation but also serve as carriers of artistic values. A centrally located gap in this structural elevation hides stairs leading to the garden, concealed in cascading waterfalls. Trees towering above the water surface, growing from openings in the terraces, and floating greenery beds may seem like a mythical scene. However, combining this mythical vision with professional design knowledge and mastery in the field of design brings innovation, enhancing the building's visual value.

The combination of architecture and landscape in this project forms an art form, yet the entire investment also permeates other elements of the creative workshop. In the driveway area, a refined sculpture, maintained in an ancient climate, attracts attention. In the garden area, perfectly on the elevation's axis, a sculpted observer figure is placed, emphasizing the perfection of the human body. Nevertheless, these aesthetic additions are only part of the whole. The most beautiful aspects are hidden from the ordinary user and can only be admired from a bird's eye view. The mosaic covering the water terraces depicts the well-known motif of the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo. Along with his work, it is worth recalling his words: "Do not underestimate trifles, for perfection is made up of trifles." These words encapsulate the essence of this iconic project, where every meticulously selected detail harmonizes with the refined vision of the whole.

Tomaszewski has created a lasting source of utilitarian beauty, which not only stands out for its aesthetics but also ensures functionality and harmony. By applying precise proportions and geometry, the architect was able to create an extraordinary form that not only delights with its external appearance but also promotes comfort and usability for the residents. This symbiosis of mathematical precision and artistic vision allowed the creation of a space that not only follows the spirit of ancient tradition but also represents a modern expression of architectural mastery. PHANTENOM Casa is evidently an emancipation of perfection, an icon of style, creating harmonious perfection.

The house measures 640 m².

Commencement of realization in 2025.
