300 East 34th Street

This 36-story, 360-unit luxury rental building in midtown Manhattan was built in the 1970s, and the common spaces needed an update.  We have worked closely with the client to re-imagine the extensive lobby and re-organize the building’s service spaces.  Set against a rich backdrop of quartzite slabs and walnut paneling, a CNC-milled feature wall creates a subtle shimmering effect in the front lobby as residents pass to and fro.  The new finishes extend to a portion of the exterior, and new lighting throughout serves to connect the exterior covered plaza with the interior lobby.  A new valet counter, mailroom, package room and gym provide improved service to tenants.  The new two-level exercise space is a collaboration with Key + Shade Interior Design.
