Tigerman McCurry Architects has its roots within the Chicago tradition of innovative design. The firm as it is presently constituted is the result of the melding of two individual design practices that combine nearly eighty years of experience. Tigerman’s practice was initially founded in 1962. McCurry’s architectural and interiors practice was founded in 1977 following her 11-year tenure at Skidmore Owings and Merrill. In 1982 the two firms merged. The diverse portfolio of Tigerman McCurry Architects includes institutional, educational and religious facilities, museum installations, mixed-use and affordable housing projects, retail showrooms, restaurants, recreational facilities, and private residences. Its geographical scope of work encompasses 17 states and 10 foreign countries. Tigerman McCurry Architects has always operated as a small personalized professional firm and has recently achieved Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) status as well as government recognition as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE).
