We see each project / product as an opportunity to design and implement a condition of space, as an organizer of things and communicator of information.
As the digital revolution and interactions in the virtual world grow, physical space is becoming less meaningful and engaging to its occupants. We, at OPeX studios, find digital culture as an opportunity to question the responsibility of space, to challenge the role of space in the contemporary life. With its communication networks, virtual relationships, fire-wires, memories, sounds, odors, temperatures, and movements space is never empty but always fully layered.
Our goal is to arrive at alternate ways of unpacking space while better understanding the human behavior, in particular its relationship to designing the unfamiliar elicited by today’s world of digital culture, DIY mentality, and “an incredible access to an endless supply of information”.
The culmination of our design approaches are interactive, thought-provoking, and entertaining “things” that blur the boundaries between exhibition, environment, and product.
