Fred Basch is an architect specializing in renovation, preservation and restoration, especially in theater and performance spaces. Basch has over twenty year’s experience working as an Architect focused on theatre renovations. Basch has been a consultant to the New York City Department of Design and Construction and the New York Police Department, he led the renovation of the Central Park Police Precinct, which received the 2011 Lucy G. Moses award from the New York Landmarks Conservancy for outstanding preservation efforts.

Basch is also working on the renovation of Studio 54 for the Roundabout Theatre Company. Other recent design projects include the award-winning renovation of the American Airline Theatre and the Harold, Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre, Soho Rep, St. George Theater and Jazz at Lincoln Center all in New York City.

Our view is that people and their activities need to be supported by the building, the facilities, and the technology inside the building. Architecture should reinforce the bonds that tie people to their work.
