American Airlines Theatre 1997-2001 (27 Million Dollars)
Completed by Fred Basch while at Karlsberger Architecture P.C.
American Airlines Theatre, formerly the Selwyn Theatre, included a complex historic preservation effort, the renovation of backstage elements, and insertion of new construction below grade and on the roof. All of this work was coordinated with numerous specialty consultants. The project was fast-tracked and many separate bid sets were issued and coordinated to maintain the schedule. This project also required a set of tight bid documents and coordination among many trades. The main challenge was to restore the theatre to its former glory, updating all of the systems and services while restoring the existing theatre envelope. We worked with our prime and specialty consultants to integrate all the new services behind the scenes.
