This installation is ultimately meant to be a satirization of modern society and its obsession with taking selfies. In this playful installation, inspired by Daniel Buren’s Les Deux Plateau, we wanted to introduce somewhere where people can take the perfect instagram selfie. When people come to Italy there are so many historical places to see and things to do, however so often people miss out on these things because they are too busy taking pictures of instead of absorbing what they are seeing. By implementing a modern monument that lacks meaningful history, people have the ability to capture the perfect instagram without missing the importance of the history around them. The faceted mirrored columns surrounded by the bright pink wall provides just enough modern elements to attract the young generations to the historical city of Bologna
