Through analyzing the Everson Museum and the plaza outside, the idea of terracing plays an important role in the overall design. By combining terracing and the relationship between the different heights of the stairs with the idea of structure as a means of organizing space and program, these playful pools come to life. Influenced by Bureau Spectacular’s Pool Party project proposal, this project features a series of platforms that are supported by pools. Pools and the shapes in which they are designed have the potential to create interesting sectional experiences. By taking advantage of these interesting sectional qualities, the program and layout of the site evolved.
