Fall 2018 (Duration: 8 Weeks)

The Broad Channel Recreation Center looks to reimagine lifestyle and recreation at the water’s edge by designing a boardwalk that not only serves as a public promenade, but also a protective barrier from rising sea levels and daily flooding. The boardwalk hosts a variety of recreational programs which include small indoor and outdoor gym courts, a recreational room, studio spaces for exercise classes, steam and sauna rooms, etc. The recreational pools on site that sit along the water side of the boardwalk are situated at different flood elevations so that they operate based on daily tidal flooding.
