Cal Poly Multi-Cultural Center

This Cal Poly project represents the entire student body. Embracing the dynamic between safety and inclusion, the program ranges from private advising and counseling to a 400-seat theater and art gallery. The site is at the heart of campus adjacent to the University Union, the new Rec Center and the soon-to-be-completed Center for Science and Math. Accordingly, we incorporated a contextualized design and material aesthetic while highlighting unique spatial arrangements.

As an integrated project delivery team, we designed with structural and construction logistics in mind from the beginning. This project was an amazing exercise of team communication and quick translation from concept to building. As one of the lead architects, I lead the team toward a successful solution to our clients experiential, programmatic and environmental needs.
