This seasonal residence takes design cues from its unique Jackson Hole site with panoramic mountain views. Modern materials including exposed steel, raw concrete and oiled cedar provide a sophisticated counterpoint to the surrounding natural beauty.
A 20-foot height restriction dictated a design that maximizes views through a stepped composition. The house emerges from the land, then parallels the slope of the butte with progressively-lower, flat, grassy roof lines. Connection with the natural surroundings is heightened by the addition of a reflecting pool and flowing water trough that courses along the structure’s exterior providing a pleasant outdoor terrace experience.
