Interior and landscape design of a new construction 7-story residential building consisting of approximately 188 units. For the conceptual design of the exterior facade, TAKTLE concrete panels were installed “floating” off the structure of the building to create a rain screen effect. As accents to the concrete are raw steel panels and wood planks recycled from the boardwalks destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The two-story exterior canopy features an angled steel structure with an unexpected water feature at the building’s entry. Throughout the building is a rustic industrial boutique hotel concept, found through the utilization of reclaimed pine barn siding, distressed brick veneer, antique mirrors, and corten at the custom reception desk and fireplace feature wall. Oversized chandeliers with exposed filament bulbs and floor-to-ceiling exposed pipes accentuate the high ceilings in the lobby. The grass moss feature wall at the elevator corridors brings a unique focal point upon entering and exiting the elevators. The kitchens are comprised of stainless steel shaker cabinetry, textured subway tiles, and reclaimed wood paneling. Bathrooms continue the vintage feel with subway tiles and mosaic penny rounds combined with metallic and concrete tiles.
