The Israel residence was commissioned as a ground up design for a modest country home for a family of four. Located on a 3-acre property in the Hamptons, this 7,500-square-foot house has a symmetrical plan and includes five bedrooms, a grand salon, full dining room, kitchen and den, stair tower and light well, mud room, maids quarters and full usable basement. The dining room is on the center axis of the house, along with the entry and foyer. Adjacent to the dining room is the salon, which features a 35-foot wood-beamed cathedral ceiling. In addition to these wooden beams, which were reclaimed from a 300-year-old East Coast barn house, the fireplace mantle is an antique which contrasts with the all-white decoration of the rest of the home. The kitchen also features a fireplace, as well as an eat-in kitchen, and connects to the garden through a covered porch, looking over the pool and garden.
