This is the preliminary design proposal of the re-use of an 8000sqm building at Vouliagmeni territory, in Athens, Greece.
The building used to be a hotel at the past years, during 1960-1990 and then, it was abadoned. During the latest years, it was re-designed as an office building, but it was never used as one.
The present owner assigned us the research of re-using the building with two scenarios: 4 stars hotel and 5 stars hotel.
Here, we present our proposal for the 5 stars rated Hotel scenario, were we proposed a potential use as a "5 stars Luxury Hotel", we presented the potential building programme, studied the main elevations and the typical hotel room, all based on the law's and international specifications for the 5 stars rated hotels.
The main idea was a hotel with luxury facilities, with extended indoor and outdoor spaces for swimming, spa, fitness and relaxation.
The idea of the Architectural Design was a clean-cut design with geometrical shapes that create a "severe" form. The building is proposed to be covered with marble cladding. The same marble is also proposed for selected interior wall surfaces and the flooring. The coloring is proposed in natural shades, combined with the sea's turquoise.
You may see the 4 stars hotel scenario at our project named: "4 STARS FAMILY HOTEL" Hotel Renovation at Vouliagmeni territory
