High Tech Campus

A competition win resulted in this masterplan for a research centre. Philips desires to share knowledge via an open network. They wish to perform technologically innovative projects by forming strategic alliances. To achieve this aim, a business park was developed which needed to conform to strict requirements. The High Tech Campus Eindhoven radiates the new outlook in the world of business technology; inviting, inspiring and openness are the key concepts.

More than the sum of the parts
Together with JHK Architects and Juurlink [+] Geluk Landscape Architects we developed a plan; an award winning plan. The assertion of this plan was that taken together, the buildings at the location needed to become something more than the sum of their parts. We achieved this by creating a perfect balance of urban planning, landscaping and architecture. During the development phase, the principles were interaction and teamwork, ecology and sustainability, combined with technical abstraction.

Eindhoven, brainport
The campus crackles with life. Currently there are 8,000 people working there, from over 50 nations. This is eventually expected to number 10,000. For Eindhoven this is a significant step forward in establishing the city as a recognised brainport, and ultimately a key player in the Dutch knowledge economy.
