Belvedere, Multi-generational housing and a public park

The site is an area of 17'000 square meters adjacent to the historic core of the village, a town of a population of seven hundred people. The proposal aligns the buildings along the boundaries of the site, in order to exploit the maximum percentage of the area for the public park and define a strong boundary between the urban and agricultural area. The building have an height of 9.6 m from the lowest altitude if the site. Exploiting the natural slope of the territory, an access to a public roof is easily provided by a ramp. This way not only the density of the town gradually diminishes as one moves away fro the center of the village, but a further public space is given: a panoramic walk which works as a counterpoint to the existing row of trees on the opposite side of the site. This cherry tree lined route offers a pleasant view over the village and Lake Geneva, crowned by the mountains of Savoy. At the other edge of the promenade, a spiral ramp around a play area for children offers another connection between the roof and the park, a wide lawn where all the existing trees are preserved.
