ASCA-AISC Student Design Competition-Building a Bridge 2013
The competition called for designing an innovative steel pedestrian bridge. The site was open-ended, allowing each design team to choose their own site. I chose a site in Albuquerque because the city has many infrastructure projects to control and manage the Rio Grande. Through time, the infrastructure has developed its own type of design aesthetic. The incorporation of a steel constructed pedestrian bridge within the river corridor would then create a comparative timeline of engineering and innovation.
