COPAN RUINAS, HONDURAS

This project consisted of the restoration of the old Cabañas fort in Copan, as part of my work with the Copan Asociation and the Honduran Institute of tourism.

My responsibilities included:

• A viability study to sell the project to the World Bank
• Research of original elements of the building
• Develop the design with the inclusion of the children’s museum “Casa Kinich” and elaborate the Construction Drawings, specs, and budget
• Supervise the construction of the building

Other info:

• The building has a footprint of 22,000 sf plus 18,000 sf of landscape
• The design and construction lasted 22 months.
