WIN THE COMPETITION TO ENTER THE SUMMER SCHOOL AT A REDUCED FEE!

The master Pascal Schöning is back, teaching again in Nice for ten days this summer with the photographer Goswin Schwendinger.
Nice, the French capital of crime is the backdrop of the course. Surrounded by retired criminals and lookalikes, the romantic legacy of the New Wave will be easier to grasp, for the better or for the worse. Indeed! What room is left to lovers and sinners after fifty years of tourism on the Riviera? Since Godard said that “Cinema was the most beautiful fraud in the world”, how much love is it possible to give to this crime in such a place ?
Based on the manifesto Cinematic Architecture, the moment of a short story will be the starting point for the investigation. One still will be carefully crafted around that story. Its narrative will then be expanded to reach the quality and the density of a movie. Participants are invited to ponder upon what the French Riviera is in their imagination and represent it in two shots.
One is Love. One is Crime.
If these are sent to the organisers no later than the day of the deadline, the authors of the best pair of images will see their fees partly refunded.
Deadline: 29th of July
Send two images with only one title to octave.perrault@aaschool.ac.uk
