The school is starting to look alive and the coffee is already flowing. Yesterday was the all-school welcome, as well as the housing studio lottery - the choices are looking very good for us this semester, with Scott Marble, David Turnbull, Bob Marino, Michael Bell topping out my list. Will find out for sure today, after the draconian proccess of seeing who gets the lucky numbers.
Attended a lecture by Manuel Delanda (teaching a class in the self-organization of cities) - I am reallly dissapointed I wont be able to find time for the class - very smart guy and very concrete with what he is saying (a rarity in the slippery world of theory!). Heres an image of the extreme amount of smoking the lecture induced.

lottery for studios is so stressful!
mark,
i was hoping you would take up this torch...ever taken any of ed keller's studios/classes? i used his discourse as a reference for my thesis...
keep up the good work and say hey to sarah...
How's it going with the interim dean? and the dean search? Does it make a difference?
you can read delandas books instead of taking his classes. the books are amazing, and his lectures are often verbatim...
PS - there is no interim dean any more! Wigley is King!
thats true... Wigley rocks!
