Begüm Şardan is a multidisciplinary architect who was born in İstanbul, Türkiye.

She has been dreaming about design and architecture since her childhood.

In 2016, her dream became a reality, and she graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Architecture. During her last year at the university, with her group, she won the first award in her career. Taro was selected as a winner of The Communal Kitchen Competition at Istanbul Bilgi University and shortlisted at IKEA Foundation.
In the following years, she had a chance to work on many projects with multiple offices.

In 2019, she started writing articles on illustrarch.com. The same year, she moved to Milan to study for her master's in Urban Vision and Architectural Design at Domus Academy. During her master's, she worked with well-known brands such as Google and Per Dormire. Her group won the mention award of the Per Dormire Bed Design Competition. The bed was going to be shown in Salone del Mobile 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 situation, it couldn't happen.

In 2020, she got her master's degree with a grade of 110/110. Then, she had the pleasure of being the online juror of architecture and illustration competitions worldwide.

In 2021, with Politecnico di Milano students, she participated in 2 projects exhibited in Italian Pavillion at Venice Biennale.

At the beginning of 2022, her group won the first prize in the Social Furniture Competition by Particle and participated in Particle's design talk events.
On the other hand, she worked at Progetto Cmr as an architect and had the chance to participate big scaled projects.

In 2023, she moved back to her hometown, and has been working on multiple projects worldwide. Recently, her group won the City of Creation | Ville Genesis Award in HackCity Competition powered by the Pixcity Dao based in China.

Currently, she is based in Istanbul and working as a freelance architect, often traveling abroad and experiencing the excitement of meeting with people from all around the world to share her experiences.
